Do You Believe?
I believe that I exemplify the spirit of an Olympic torchbearer through my everyday activities such as; walking my two dogs on a daily basis on my town’s walking paths, practicing yoga on a daily basis and weight lifting three days per week. Now that summer has arrived I also enjoy swimming as often as possible.
I believe and teach that daily activities of some kind are a benefit to anyone no matter their age, size and physical abilities. If you can get out and do anything from a leisurely stroll to training for an Olympic event you are benefiting your mind, body and soul.
I believe even though I was diagnosed with Lupus about 2 years ago; I still manage to keep my commitment to daily activities which has helped me cope with this auto immune disease.
I believe with my profession as an EMT/First-Aid/CPR instructor I take every opportunity in my community to teach about healthy and active lifestyles.
I would be very proud and honored to be chosen to carry the torch not only to represent my county but also to represent all the people in the world that are coping or trying to cope with lupus. Do you believe?
